HID-Supporting the Animal Husbandry Department in establishing the State Management Institute for Livestock Andhra Praesh (SMILDA). In the context of emerging privatisation demands, new definition of roles and tasks, a change in the work culture within AHD in order to meet the quality standards for service delivery has been acknowledged. These HRD concerns aim at promoting and strengthening a favourable environment for personnel and organisational development of AHD.
VLDA-As part of Breeding Restructuring Operations in Andhra Pradesh establishing farmer based organisation to provide doorstep services for improving breeds in the villages through village associations. At the state level the Andhra Pradesh Livestock Development Association has been formed. District level associations have been formed to support this activity. All these organisations aim to provide quality breeding services at the doorstep of the farmer with cost recovery for the services rendered.It was experienced that transforming a government run set up into a farmer based organisation is a slow process, which in its initial stages require substantial external guidance and direction.
